This exercise helps improve external rotation of the shoulder using a wand or cane for assistance.

Instructions

  1. 1Lie on your back with a cane in both hands.
  2. 2Place a towel under your elbow on the affected side.
  3. 3Maintain a 90-degree bend at the elbow.
  4. 4Use the other arm to pull the wand for rotation.
  5. 5Hold the stretch and return to the starting position.

Programming Recommendations

We recommend performing 3 sets of 10 repetitions, once or twice daily unless directed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
